TimeAudit ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our time tracking application.
We understand that how you spend your time — including work hours, personal activities, and sleep patterns — is private information. We've built TimeAudit with privacy as a core principle.
Information We Collect
Data You Provide:
- Time entries and activity logs
- Category labels (Business, Personal, custom categories)
- Activity descriptions and notes
- Sleep tracking start and end times
- Notification preferences
Data We Do NOT Collect:
- Your real name or identity
- Your location or GPS data
- Your contacts or address book
- Photos or media from your device
- Data from other apps on your device
- Keystroke or screen activity data
- Your employer's information
How Your Data Is Stored
All of your time tracking data is stored locally on your device. We use industry-standard encryption to protect your data both at rest and in transit.
If you choose to enable cloud backup (optional), your data is encrypted before it leaves your device. We cannot read your data even if we wanted to — only you have the decryption key.
How We Use Your Information
We use your data solely to:
- Display your time entries and activity history
- Generate analytics and charts about your time usage
- Calculate tracking streaks
- Send you optional reminder notifications
- Enable CSV export functionality
What We Never Do
We never sell your data to third parties.
We never share your data with advertisers.
We never use your data for targeted advertising.
We never provide your data to employers or HR departments.
We never share your data with productivity monitoring services.
We never analyze aggregate user data for any purpose.
Third-Party Services
TimeAudit uses minimal third-party services:
- Apple App Store / Google Play Store: For app distribution and subscription management. These platforms have their own privacy policies.
We do not use any analytics services, crash reporting tools, or third-party SDKs that track your behavior within the app.
Data Export and Deletion
You have complete control over your data:
- Export: You can export all of your time tracking data as a CSV file at any time directly from the app.
- Delete: You can delete individual entries or all of your data from within the app. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
If you uninstall TimeAudit, all locally stored data is automatically removed from your device.
Workplace Privacy
TimeAudit is a personal productivity tool. We want to be clear:
- Your employer cannot access your TimeAudit data
- We do not offer enterprise or employer-managed versions
- We will never share your data with any workplace monitoring services
- Your time tracking is completely private and under your control
Children's Privacy
TimeAudit is designed for adults managing their time and productivity. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or via email if you've provided one. Your continued use of TimeAudit after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
